Overview
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Batch Plant Operator / Batch Plant In-Charge to manage one of our Ready-Mix Concrete batching plant locations in Malawi. This is a senior, hands-on operational role with full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a batching plant yard and all associated resources. The successful candidate will have full accountability for plant operations, production discipline, material control, staff supervision, and the overall operational efficiency of the assigned batching plant.

Key Responsibilities
• Operation of fully automatic concrete batching plants
• Overall in-charge responsibility for a batching plant yard and daily production activities
• Management and coordination of mixer trucks and dispatch operations
• Control and dispensing of diesel, including daily monitoring and record-keeping
• Monitoring, recording, and reconciliation of raw material movements, including cement, aggregates, admixtures, and fuel
• Ensuring correct batching procedures, mix accuracy, and consistent production discipline
• Supervision, scheduling, and management of plant staff, drivers, and yard personnel
• Maintenance of daily production logs, stock records, fuel records, and basic operational reports
• Ensuring cleanliness, organisation, safety, and discipline within the plant and yard
• Regular liaison with management on production planning, operational issues, and performance reporting

Key Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a concrete batching plant
• Strong background in a ready-mix / pre-mix concrete environment
• Proven ability to independently operate and manage fully automatic batching plants
• Experience managing a complete batching yard, including trucks, materials, and manpower
• Highly organised, disciplined, and hard-working individual • Excellent spoken English is essential
• Good written English skills are mandatory for reporting and record-keeping
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and control staff effectively
• Ability to work under pressure and take full operational responsibility
