Job Description

The Production Supervisor is the first-line leader on the shop floor, owning the complete shift cycle: receiving the production plan, issuing raw material/WIP from stores, deploying operators, monitoring output against targets, returning unprocessed material, and handing over clean records to the next shift. Primary accountability for shift OEE, operator discipline, 5S, and material traceability during their shift.

ction Monitoring: Machine-wise output vs. plan every 2 hrs;

real-time ERP update; immediate corrective action for shortfall; escalate if unresolved in 30 min.

• Material Issuance: Raise MIS; verify alloy grade, heat number & colour tag vs. BOM; correct quantity; enforce FIFO on WIP lots.

• Return of Unprocessed Material: Reconcile all issued quantities at shift end; prepare MRN for surplus/unprocessed material; Stores sign-off; zero unaccounted parts.

• Operator Allocation: Post deployment chart at shift start; cross-deploy for absentees; ensure drawing, Control Plan & gauges at every workstation.

• Production Planning Execution: Execute shift plan as released; sequence jobs for minimum changeover; track machine utilisation & downtime; carry forward pending lots with written handover.

• Quality & First-Off Inspection: FAI completed & signed before every batch/setup change; co-sign in-process inspection records as per Control Plan frequency.

• Rejection / Rework Segregation: Segregate with red tags immediately; move to Rejection Bay with documentation; zero mixed lots; report repeat rejections to Quality.

• 5S & Safety: Shift-end 5S round; 100% PPE compliance on all operators;

report near-misses to Safety Officer immediately.

• Shift Handover: Complete Shift Handover Logbook — plan vs. actual, pending jobs, breakdowns, quality alerts — signed by both supervisors.
