Job Description

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Piping Engineer to support execution of piping works on a naval refit project. The role involves supervision of fabrication, onboard installation, testing, and coordination with yard teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabrication & Welding Supervision:

• Oversee spool fabrication including cutting, fit-up, and welding
• Ensure welding is carried out as per approved WPS/PQR
• Maintain basic material traceability and fabrication records

Installation & Execution:

• Supervise onboard piping installation, routing, and alignment
• Coordinate installation of supports, valves, and connections
• Ensure proper fitment in confined ship spaces

Inspection & Testing:

• Coordinate NDT activities (PT, MT, RT, UT) with QC team
• Witness hydrostatic / pneumatic testing and flushing
• Identify and rectify leaks or installation issues

Coordination & Quality:

• Work closely with yard team, QC, and supervisors
• Ensure compliance with marine/class requirements
• Maintain daily reports and QA/QC documentation

Candidate Profile:

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–6 years’ experience in shipyard / marine / offshore piping
• Experience in refit / repair / retrofit projects preferred
• Hands-on, execution-focused mindset
