Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee mechanical equipment operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a port environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with port machinery, heavy equipment, and maintenance operations to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of port facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical equipment used in port operations.

• Ensure the smooth functioning of cargo-handling equipment, cranes, conveyors, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.

• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Diagnose mechanical faults, troubleshoot breakdowns, and coordinate repair work.

• Monitor equipment performance and minimize operational downtime.

• Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

• Maintain equipment maintenance records, inspection reports, and operational documentation.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and maintenance schedules.

• Coordinate with port operations and other departments to support uninterrupted cargo-handling activities.

• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and maintenance costs.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7–8 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, port operations, or heavy equipment maintenance.

• Experience with port machinery, cargo-handling systems, cranes, conveyors, or similar industrial equipment.

• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical specifications.

• Experience in equipment inspection, fault diagnosis, and maintenance planning.

• Good coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a demanding operational environment while following safety procedures.

Preferred Industry Experience

Port operations, marine terminals, shipping, logistics, heavy engineering, or industrial equipment maintenance.
