JOB DESCRIPTION – IRRIGATION ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Irrigation Engineer to design, supervise and execute irrigation systems for landscaping projects. The candidate should have strong experience in drip, bubbler and sprinkler irrigation, hydraulic calculations, AutoCAD drawings, site execution and irrigation automation.

Key Responsibilities

•             Design irrigation systems for landscaping and softscape projects, including drip, bubbler and sprinkler systems.

•             Prepare irrigation layouts, shop drawings and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.

•             Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pump selection, head loss calculations and water budgeting.

•             Prepare material submittals, method statements and technical documentation for consultant/client approval.

•             Supervise irrigation installation and site execution through foremen and technicians.

•             Install and commission irrigation controllers, decoders, sensors and automated irrigation systems.

•             Conduct site surveys and assess existing irrigation networks and site conditions.

•             Coordinate with clients, consultants, project managers, suppliers and site teams.

•             Monitor installation quality and ensure works comply with approved drawings and specifications.

•             Coordinate with suppliers regarding material availability, technical specifications and deliveries.

•             Troubleshoot irrigation system issues and recommend appropriate solutions.

•             Inspect and test irrigation systems before handover.

•             Prepare project reports, material requirements and progress updates.

•             Ensure efficient water usage and implement water-saving irrigation practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

•             B.Tech / Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering.

•             Strong practical knowledge of drip, bubbler, sprinkler and automated irrigation systems.

•             Experience with landscape/softscape irrigation projects is highly preferred.

•             Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, particularly Excel.

•             Knowledge of hydraulic calculations, pump selection, pipe sizing and irrigation scheduling.

•             Experience with controllers, decoders, sensors and smart irrigation systems.

•             Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.

•             Good communication and coordination skills.

•             Ability to supervise site teams and work independently.

Preferred Skills

•             Experience in GCC/Oman/UAE landscaping projects.

•             Knowledge of major irrigation brands and products.

•             Familiarity with consultant inspection procedures and material approvals.

•             Oman driving licence is an advantage.

•             Ability to work on construction sites and in outdoor conditions.
