Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our Ready-Mix Concrete operations in Malawi.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands on experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy duty diesel-powered equipment used in construction and concrete operations. This includes trucks, wheel loaders, mixer trucks, concrete boom pumps, and batching plants. While the role is primarily mechanical, the candidate should also possess a working knowledge of auto-electrical systems relevant to this equipment.

This position is critical to ensuring high equipment availability, preventative maintenance, and rapid fault resolution across our fleet and plant operations.

Key Requirements

Minimum 5–7 years’ experience as a heavy duty diesel mechanic
Strong experience with trucks, wheel loaders, mixer trucks, concrete boom pumps, and batching plants
Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, and drivetrains
Working knowledge of auto-electrical systems (12V and 24V) including starters, alternators, and sensors
Ability to perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing
Experience in construction, mining, or concrete-related environments preferred

ITI / Diploma in Diesel Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Good spoken English
