Job Description

The Project General Manager shall be responsible for the site survey, planning, engineering coordination,estimating,costing,budgeting , execution, HSE,QAQC,billing,monitoring, and successful delivery of downstream oil & gas infrastructure and other industrial projects across a country in Africa in given time lines and budget.

 The role requires a highly experienced professional capable of managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, consultants, procurement activities, project budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and stakeholder coordination from project inception through commissioning to handover.

The incumbent shall ensure that all projects are executed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with plans, applicable international standards, company procedures, and local statutory requirements.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Master’s Degree (M.E./M.Tech./MBA in Project Management) – Preferred
  • Degree from a reputed engineering institution preferred.
  • Project Management certification (PMP/PRINCE2 or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and MS project.
  • 18-25 years of hands-on experience in the downstream oil & gas sector,infra,industrial and .
  • At least 15 years in a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer role.
  • Experience working with reputed Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), EPC contractors, engineering consultants, or multinational organizations engaged in downstream petroleum infrastructure and industrial works.
  • Proven experience in delivering multiple projects simultaneously.

The candidate should possess extensive experience in planning, engineering coordination, execution, commissioning, and project management of:

  • Retail Fuel Stations/oil  and gas terminal/depots./manufacturing units
  • Residential Buildings/Office Buildings
  • Utility Infrastructure
  • Allied Civil Infrastructure

Preference will be given to candidates having project exposure across African countries.

  • Lead projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Develop project execution strategies.
  • Prepare project implementation plans.
  • Establish project milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor project schedules using appropriate project management tools.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects.
