Contract Manager - Contractor’s Representative

Position: Contract Manager / Contractor’s Representative (Project Manager)
Location: Lesotho, Southern Africa
Project: Design & Build Water Treatment Plant & Pumping Station
Plant Capacity: 50,000 M³/Day
Joining: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred

Job Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of cumulative experience in construction.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in water engineering, specifically involving construction of Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Pumping Stations.
• Experience on projects of similar scale and nature is mandatory.
• Minimum 2 similar project assignments as Project Manager / Contractor’s Representative.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in developing countries is required.
• M.Sc. in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Post Graduate Qualification in Project Management or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Strong experience in contract management and administration for Design & Build / EPC water projects.
• Proficiency in applying and interpreting FIDIC 2017 Yellow Book contract conditions.
• Strong knowledge of claims, variations, EOT, contractual correspondence, payment certification and dispute avoidance.
• Experience coordinating with the Client, Consultant, subcontractors, design teams and construction teams.
• Strong leadership, communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Contractor’s Representative / Project Manager for the project.
• Overall responsibility for contract administration and project execution.
• Manage contractual obligations under the FIDIC 2017 Yellow Book.
• Monitor claims, variations, extensions of time and contractual notices.
• Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
• Ensure the project is delivered within contractual, technical, cost and schedule requirements.
• Lead coordination with the Employer/Client, Engineer, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Identify contractual risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
