Job Description

Commercial & Credit Control Manager

Scaffolding & Formwork Division

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing commercial operations, credit control, invoicing, collections, contract review, and customer evaluation for scaffolding & formwork rental and contracting business, including manpower supply operations.

The role works closely with Sales and Business Development teams by providing customer evaluation, market intelligence, and commercial risk assessment to support business decisions.


Key Responsibilities

Commercial Operations & Credit Control

  • Manage invoice generation, submission, certification, follow-up, and payment collections.

  • Monitor customer accounts, ageing reports, reconciliations, and debt recovery.

  • Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Engineers, Stores, and customer accounts teams for invoice clearance and payment processing.

  • Prepare receivable analysis, commercial MIS reports, and management presentations.

Contract Management

  • Review and finalize contracts for rental, contract scaffolding, formwork, and manpower supply business.

  • Ensure compliance with commercial terms, payment conditions, and contractual obligations.

  • Prepare documentation and coordinate legal recovery cases when required.

Customer Evaluation & Risk Assessment

  • Support Sales and Business Development teams in customer selection through:

    • Customer financial evaluation

    • Payment history analysis

    • Market intelligence

    • Credit risk assessment

  • Conduct regular customer visits to monitor project status, payment position, and financial reliability.

  • Recommend credit limits, delivery holds, or legal action where necessary.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with operations, logistics, finance, and sales teams to ensure smooth commercial operations.

  • Support management in preparing company profiles and presentation materials.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering / M.Com / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.

  • 5–7 years of experience in Construction, Scaffolding, or Formwork industry.

  • Strong experience in commercial control, credit control, collections, and contract management.

  • Experience in rental and contract scaffolding business is mandatory.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA, Lookups)

  • Power BI / Tableau reporting skills
