Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Agronomist to manage and monitor crop production activities, with a strong focus on onion, potato, and banana cultivation. The candidate will be responsible for improving crop health, yield, quality, and overall farm productivity through effective agronomic practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor crop growth, health, and development through regular field visits.
• Develop and implement crop management plans for onion, potato, and banana.
• Identify and manage crop diseases, pests, weeds, and nutritional deficiencies.
• Recommend suitable fertilizers, micronutrients, pesticides, and crop protection measures.
• Manage soil fertility, irrigation, and water requirements.
• Conduct soil and crop assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor planting, crop development, harvesting, and post-harvest activities.
• Implement good agricultural practices to improve yield and crop quality.
• Maintain records of field activities, crop performance, inputs, and production.
• Provide technical guidance and training to farm workers and field teams.
• Monitor crop productivity and identify opportunities to reduce losses and production costs.
• Coordinate with farm managers, suppliers, and agricultural teams.
• Prepare regular reports on crop performance and field conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Science, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in commercial farming or crop production.
• Practical experience in onion, potato, or banana cultivation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of crop nutrition, irrigation, soil management, pest and disease control.
• Good understanding of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and modern farming practices.
• Strong field monitoring and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work and relocate to Senegal, Africa.
• Candidates must hold a valid passport and be willing to work in an international agricultural environment.
